Unity gets a very unfair ride from most of the fanbase - broken at launch, but once patched and fixed it's one of the best looking and most fun of the series. If my dumb comments, which are dumb and ultimately unimportant, have offended you, just go kill some stuff in a game and pretend it’s me. What’s really important is that we all play games and at least we have this in common, which is pretty cool. My opinion really shouldn’t matter to anyone but me, just like your opinions really shouldn’t matter to me. People should play AC2/4, then go play Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla.Įdit: Based on other comments in this thread, I feel I should also say this: TLDR: I used to like the early AC games, but then Origins came out and I realized how terrible they actually are (Unity feels like a decent middle-ground). The only thing good about ACIV is the ship combat, but that gets repetitive after the first few hours. The overall concepts of hunting down a target and deciding how to kill them are pretty good, or they would be if there was anything dynamic about them. The dialog is also cringier than 90% of modern games. The traversal system is absolutely infuriating and the combat is either I played through the entire series over the last 2 years and, at least by today’s standards, everything before Unity feels like hot garbage. So while I do love my co-op I am glad to hear they are not just going to shoe horn in any old idea to try ship an extra few copies and are rather doing their best to stick to the original plotlines and story.Everybody really wearing rose-tinted glasses for the earlier AC games. So to justify something like co-op, you would have to have in our universe with Desmond, the assassin and the Templars… you’d have to find subjects that had ancestors in the same time period, as for example in this case Ezio, in the same area and have a separate Animus.†€œYou have to come back to the universe of Assassin’s Creed and what Assassin’s Creed is, because Assassin’s Creed is the story of Desmond Miles and a machine called the Animus in which he relives his ancestors’ genetic memories,†In other news the associate producer for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Jean-Francois Boivin, has been speaking to Videogames Daily and has admitted while the idea of a co-op mechanic being added to the game is an appealing thought they haven’t come up with a way to ensure the story and logic flows correctly with it. Unfortunately I never got any hands on time myself with the title but if the howls of complaints from downed Assassin’s and smack talk of victorious hunters was anything to go by then this new addition to the Assassin’s Creed universe is going to be very well received indeed.Īssassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is going to be released towards the end of November and once again looks to be a must have for the legions of Assassin’s out there. You then begin to hunt down your chosen target and appear to get hints as you go such as “Lorenzo last seen in the central marketâ€â€¦ The thing is you can just go running into the central market and take him out as not only will he be made aware of you coming in but you will also become a shining beacon for your hunter to pounce. At this same time your ugly mug is appearing on someone else’s screen and while you are the hunter you are also being hunted. Then after a few seconds your target appears in the top corner, the target is the other Assassin that you have been hired to take down and is one of the other players in the game. You each get to choose what you look like and then you enter the world filled with civilians and guards and all the rest of the paraphernalia that you have come to expect from Assassin’s Creed. The concept from what I was able to pick up was that there would be 8 (or maybe 12) of you all playing as Assassin’s in a sprawling Roman village. However while I was at E3 I had the pleasure of watching some intense multiplayer action and I have to admit I am more than a little intrigued. As long as they didn’t ruin my single player experience I could forgive them. Now Assassin’s Creed has been one of my favourite single player titles and when I first heard that they were going to be adding multiplayer to the mix I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore it. ![]() ![]() One of the biggest shocks to come out of the Ubisoft offices in recent months was the news that the next Assassin’s Creed will feature an indepth multiplayer component.
